- Training:
- Effective 1 July 2001, documentation that all study personnel have completed the required Human Subjects training program must accompany all research proposals submitted for IRB review.

- Decision Tree for Classification of Exempt Projects (under construction):
- Investigators may use this tool to determine if a research project meets the Federal definition for exemption from Institutional Review Board oversight. However, all human subjects research conducted by U of A affiliated investigators must be submitted to the Human Subjects Protection Program office for review.
- Forms:
- Many different forms, guidelines, and templates are available in the forms section.
- Certificate of Confidentiality:
- Investigators may request a certificate of confidentiality for the collection of sensitive data.
- HIPAA:
- HIPAA is the Congressional act for covered entities requiring the protection of individually identifiable health care information. Research projects using this type of data must follow HIPAA guidelines found under the forms section of this site.
- Continuing Review:
- A revised continuing review process has been implemented starting with projects due for review September 2002.
