RE: Human Subjects Protection Program

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Dr. Sheryl Wurl as the new Director of the Human Subjects Protection Program at the University of Arizona. Dr. Wurl has spent over twenty years as a member of medical ethics committees and/or Institutional Review Boards at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, the University of Minnesota Hospital, and HealthSystem Minnesota. She has experience with both clinical and behavioral IRBS and has been the Director of Clinical Pastoral Education at the University of Tennessee Medical Center since 2001. Dr. Wurl’s expertise in medical ethics, cultural studies, and adult education give her a broad background from which to provide new leadership to our program. Dr. Wurl will join the UA in early September.
